Classroom Procedures |
Here are some of the classroom procedures (in case you forget!)
Take Care of Yourself Take Care of Others Take Care of this Place Procedure for coming into class: I will greet you at the door every morning. When you come in you will need to grab your sketchbook, sit in your chair, and begin the sketchbook prompt. After 5-10 min of working on the prompt we will discuss the prompt and then begin the lesson or continue working on our projects. These sketchbook prompts will be turned in every term for a big part of your grade so don’t lose them! Transitions: We will do things by table. If I need you to go get supplies I will call out which table will go first and in which order. Clean-up: Clean up is VERY important in an art classroom. The room will be messy and you may be in the middle of doing something, but it is essential that when we have 5-10 min left in class that you begin to clean up. Put away your project in the designated area. Put away your materials in the CORRECT place. Clean up your area - the desk, the floor, your chair, etc. Don’t put paint down the sink. Then go back to your desk, and I will give an overview of what we did and what we will do next time. This is a good time for you to ask questions. When the bell rings you are excused. I will always try to finish everything before the bell rings, and I will never keep you so long that you are late for your next class! |
Late Work Procedures: If you have late work, you need to turn it into me personally. I will get to grading it within 2 weeks of you turning it in. If you have a late slip to go with it, paper clip it to your work (DON’T STAPLE IT!!!) and turn it into me. Again, if you know something is going to be late, make sure to let me know. Communication is key!
Late to Class Procedures: If you are late to class, you will need to go to room #29 to get a late slip. 2 points will be taken off your participation for the day. You will also miss points for the warm-up (depending on how late you are). Missed a Day?: Ask your neighbor! Make a friend in the class and ask them what you missed BEFORE you come to me. There is also a “What You Missed” section on the class weebly you can check. I will update it everyday. If you do all of these things and are still confused, you can come and talk to me. I’m happy to help! Extra Credit: I will offer you extra credit on a case-by-case basis. Come and talk to me and we’ll figure something out. Extra credit can include going to a museum, music festival or concert, art show, or doing an extra project. Materials: If you need to check out materials you can come and talk to me. I’m more than happy to let you take stuff home, however, if you don’t bring it back, you will need to pay to replace it. Phones: You can have your phones in class IF you are using it for the purpose of the projects or for music. If I see you constantly on your phone in class, I will ask you to bring it to me and it will stay in my desk for the duration of the class. |
